CHW TRAINING

CHW TRAINING

Overview/Description (brief): Latino Network implements a 90 hr culturally specific, Spanish language CHW training that provides participants the opportunity to be certified through OHA as Traditional Health Workers. This Training has a lasting impact on our community. It helps those who are already doing the work of Community Health Workers be able to strengthen their skills and knowledge around the barriers that the Latinx community faces in relation to access to health. It creates a community of like-minded individuals who can lean on each other to advocate for their communities through health disparities and it provides access for those who need a state certification in order to apply for competitive jobs and roles within the Latinx community, CBOs and CCOs.

  • Participants are selected based on their past and current work experience, connection to the Latinx community, likelihood of working as a CHW in the future, and geographic location.

  • Lorena Mosqueda, lorena@latnet.org

  • ORCHWA, OHSU, OHA

For a community to be whole and healthy, it must be based on people’s love and concern for each other
